A few weeks ago, the process of renovating the core banking system of the Caisse d’Epargne et de Crédit de la Solidarité (CEPAC- Solidarity) was initiated in favor of integrating the ALPHA platform into its information system. Indeed, after exchanges between the top management of this second category microfinance and the Senior IT of Innovative Technology Mr. KOUIDOU ANTOINE, a migration deployment schedule has been decided and executed. This schedule is full of the main standard steps of any quality technological migration, namely
- Control of minimum requirements
- Training of IT teams
- Study of the databases
- Data migration
- Configuration
- The actual launch of the system
- Customer validation
- Technical support
From this schedule, it appears that the current stage of progress of this renovation of the basic software is the launch of the ALPHA platform. This is done with great satisfaction notwithstanding the difficulties due to the stability of the internet connectivity and the leveling of the technical capacities of the teams.
It must be said that among the obstacles commonly encountered during a technological migration process, alignment of IT teams to the new processes and privileges imposed by the incoming core banking system is a major issue. Especially when it comes to upgrading the precision of the management and calculation of aggregates and the business value proposition.
By integrating the ALPHA technological range developed by Innovative Technology, CEPAC-Solidarity microfinance is showing itself to be more inclusive by reconnecting with certain niches of its clientele that have problems of mobility and availability. The ALPHA WEB BANKING module, for example, is one of the levers on which the Caisse d’Epargne et de Crédit de la Solidarité intends to activate to reposition itself on the highly competitive market of microfinance in Cameroon.
